SUPW :-  DOOR MAT          The concept of socially useful productive work in education is one of the recent concept in Indian education. It has been developed out of Gandhiji’s educational ideas which laid stress on work centered education, having practical utility to the society. It was aimed at bringing children closer to a real understanding of the socio – economical, cultural and political needs, capacities and aspirations of their society and helping them to contribute to the society.        People normally discard old clothing. Here I have used an old and torn churidar shawl to make a door mat.

ARTFORM :-   KATHAK Kathak  is the Hindustani name for one of the eight major forms of Indian classical  dance .        The origin of Kathak is traditionally attributed to the traveling bards of ancient northern I ndia  known as Kathakars or storytellers.  The term Kathak is derived from the Vedic Sanskrit  word  Katha  which means "story", and  Kathakar  which means "the one who tells a story", or "to do with stories". Wandering kathakars  communicated stories from the great epics and ancient mythology through dance, songs and music in a manner similar to early Greek theatre.      Kathak dancers tell various stories through their hand movements and footwork, but most importantly through their facial expressions. Kathak evolved during the Bhakti movement , particularly by incorporating the childhood and stories of the Hindu god Krishna , as well as independently in the courts of north Indian kingdoms.
